Improve Your Streaming

How To Maximize Your Bandwidth

Streaming movies and television shows on services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube will use as much of your bandwidth as your connection allows. Keep in mind, your Internet connection is shared between all users, devices, and applications. This means any computer or device using high-bandwidth applications will affect the other computers and devices in your home. Improve your household’s Internet experience by managing the bandwidth allotted to streaming services.

Manage Netflix Bandwidth Usage:

  1. Login to your Netflix account.
  2. Click on Your Account from the drop down menu.
  3. Click on Playback Settings.
  4. Change the settings to either Medium or Low. This will limit the amount of data that Netflix consumes when streaming.

Manage Other Streaming Services

Amazon Prime
  1. Click on Settings.
  2. Change the settings to Good. This will limit amount of data that Amazon Prime consumes when streaming.
  1. Hover over the YouTube video.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Quality.
  4. Change the settings to either 480p or lower. This will limit amount of data that YouTube consumes when streaming.
