Kansas-based broadband provider continues network

improvements to benefit Kansans.

WICHITA, KS – Residents and businesses in west central Butler County now have access to improved broadband Internet service from Pixius Communications, LLC.  This area has been upgraded with our next generation technology which increases the service options and provides increased capacity.  The area served includes:  Andover, Augusta, Augusta Municipal Airport, Brookhaven, Gordon, Lakeview Heights, Lorena, Mecca Acres, Park East, Salter, Springdale, Sunset Acres and Towanda.

“Despite the declining economy, this part of Butler County has seen a strong demand for quality broadband Internet service,” says Pixius Chief Executive Officer Jay Maxwell.  “The technology deployed in this area provides our current and future customers with an enhanced Internet experience that is not subject to usage caps.  Freedom from usage caps is extremely important when a large percentage of current Internet usage is video entertainment.”

For about the same price as cable or DSL, Pixius’ wireless broadband solution — called eXtendsm — provides fast and reliable Internet access. Download speeds are in the range of 4 Mbps with bursts up to 18 Mbps, depending on the service option and other factors.  Upload speed are in the range of 1.5 Mbps.  These speeds are minimums, as opposed to some competitors who advertise ‘up to’ rates that are seldom achieved.  The service can be tailored to meet specific business needs, including very large data transport, remote or “campus” settings and secure private networks.

“The new services being offered in this area are a great value,” says Maxwell.  “Warren Buffet describes value in ten simple words – ‘Price is what you pay.  Value is what you get.’  At Pixius, we strive to provide our current and future customers with good value and work to make it an even greater value by upgrading the infrastructure to meet their ever-changing requirements.”

The eXtendsm wireless broadband service is marketed locally by Authorized Pixius Dealers as well as Pixius.

Pixius’ wireless broadband service was launched in Wichita, KS, in late 2002, and now provides service to over 7,000 customers in Kansas and Missouri.  The service is delivered via a network of more than 76 communications towers.

The service works with all types of internet products and tools, such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and it requires no special software.  Pixius’ trained technicians can typically install the system within a week of order placement.
